Dozens of regions across Ukraine, including the capital city of Kyiv, continue to be targeted. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that three waves of ballistic missiles have been launched at Kyiv since yesterday. Numerous sites across the city, including two hospitals, have been heavily damaged. Fellowship partners provided photos showing the daily reality that the people of Ukraine continue to endure.
Children remain in bomb shelters for extended periods, while attacks on critical infrastructure disrupt heating and fuel supplies. Missiles and drones continue to be launched in the latest wave of fighting. The approaching winter also poses a dire threat to those who have lost access to electricity and heating. The Fellowship is focusing on providing winter essentials such as warm clothing, generators, and hot meals to Ukrainians as the war shows no signs of ending.
In the most recent overnight attacks, 15 people were injured, including two teenagers. Eight people were hospitalized, while the others were treated at the scene. Defending against these attacks has become increasingly difficult for Ukraine due to dwindling supplies of Patriot interceptor missiles. A previous attack this week also claimed the life of one person and damaged a metro station.
The Fellowship is preparing to launch our Winter Warmth assistance program for elderly individuals and families in Ukraine. We also remain in close contact with our partners in cities like Kyiv as the war rages on. While this crisis may have faded from the minds of many, innocent people continue to suffer. Our efforts this winter must go above and beyond to ensure that these vulnerable individuals and families receive the essential supplies and assistance they desperately need. Just as important, we must remind them that they have not been forgotten.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
