Charlie Kirk – devoted Christian, husband and father, activist, and passionate supporter of Israel – was cut down by an assassin’s bullet on September 10, 2025.
He lived with conviction and died engaging in the very act that defined his public life: debating and inviting dialogue with his ideological opponents. His final moments were spent challenging ideas, defending his values, and refusing to back down.
Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Charlie embodied that lion-hearted boldness. He was not afraid to confront difficult truths or speak out when silence would have been the path of least resistance.
In a world that holds the misbegotten belief that words are violence, violence becomes an acceptable response to words. It remains a terribly sad and ominous symbol of the times that speaking ones’ beliefs publicly, and engaging ones’ foes honorably, has become a “controversial” act – so controversial that speaking freely can lead to murder.
Charlie’s legacy is not just in the headlines—it’s in the thousands of students he inspired, the conversations he sparked, and the courage he modeled. In a time when many retreat from ideological battles, Charlie Kirk ran toward them. His life was a testament to his faith and boldness, and his death a sobering reminder that sometimes standing firm comes with a terrible cost.
May we continue to pray that God will comfort his wife, his two beautiful children, and all who loved him and mourn his loss. May we honor his memory not only with words, but with the same pursuit of truth. And may we, like him, be bold as lions, fearlessly spreading light where others would sow darkness.
