The Fellowship is proud to have United Hatzalah as a partner in responding to emergency calls in high-risk areas. In 2025, we provided them with a grant that covered the cost of 1,000 pieces of safety gear, including bulletproof vests and helmets for volunteers. Last week, Fellowship staff attended a dedication ceremony at United Hatzalah National Logistics Center.

“These protective vests give our volunteers a vital sense of safety and security when they respond to emergency scenes—whether to a terror attack, a criminal incident, or a serious accident. The vests and helmets protect every volunteer who receives them, not only safeguarding their own lives, but also protecting the communities they serve. Because of this equipment, our volunteers can go out and save lives—and that is only possible thanks to The Fellowship’s donation,” said United Hatzalah President Eli Beer.

The vests use ceramic plates to cover and protect the heart and other vital organs. This can make the difference between life and death for volunteers responding to emergencies.

United Hatzalah is the largest volunteer first responder unit in Israel and is known for its quick response times. There are cases where volunteers must run into the line of fire to help others. Not all of Israel’s heroes are in the IDF – there are thousands looking out for their neighbors back in their hometowns. Support from The Fellowship helps keep their efforts alive.

“For all of this, I want to say, ‘thank you’ to The Fellowship and to everyone involved in raising support for Israel throughout the year,” said Beer.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels” (Psalm 122: 6-7).
