Israel: God’s Holy Land

Many, LORD my God,
   are the wonders you have done,
are the things you planned for us.
   None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds.
 they would be too many to declare.— Psalm 40:5

In the early years of the modern State of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister, said: “In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.” Indeed the rebirth of Israel, her survival among her many foes, and her development as one of the greatest democracies of our times is nothing less than a miracle.

It was just a year ago that Israel celebrated a milestone anniversary — 70 years since the modern state of Israel rose from the ashes of the Holocaust. Israel is both ancient and new; both a promise and a fulfillment of prophecy; both a hope and a reality for the Jewish people throughout the world.

In the words of Fellowship Founder Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, Israel is the bridge between Christians and Jews.

As we enter the 71st year of Israel’s rebirth, join us we take a deeper look at the state of Israel in this Limmud based on Rabbi Eckstein’s teachings, looking at Israel’s past, present, and future with hope, gratitude, and wonder at what God has done through His people and His land.
