Episode Notes:
In today’s episode, Yael focuses on Exodus 22:31:
“You are to be my holy people. So do not eat the meat of an animal torn by wild beasts; throw it to the dogs.”
As strange as this particular verse may sound—who would eat what essentially amounts to roadkill?—God is telling us that His desire is for us to rise above our animalistic nature and become more godly beings.
Yael explores what human holiness is and why it’s so important to God. This episode studies the difference between the holiness of angels and humans and why God wants a relationship with humans in the first place.
As humans, we live in the material world and must constantly choose to rise above it. And as people, we can actually, willfully choose God, and this ability to choose for ourselves and rise above our imperfections is what makes us so holy!
And the good news for us is that God made us exactly as we should be. We are perfectly imperfect! We are flawed and wonderful. Sometimes people think that their flaws make them unworthy, but in fact, the opposite is true. Our greatness lies in our weaknesses… and our unwavering commitment to overcome them.
