How to Live Your Best Life
Have you ever made a choice just to please or impress someone else? If we’re honest, we’ve all done that at one time or another.
But what would our lives look like if other peoples’ opinions truly didn’t matter to us? Would our priorities be different? Would we spend our time differently? Would we make different choices?
On today’s podcast, Yael Eckstein explores the wise advice that Moses gave the Israelites on this very topic. Yael shares how this advice transformed her life and led her to where she is today—as the leader of the largest philanthropic organization in Israel, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
If we shift our focus from pleasing others to pleasing God, we can be free to live our best and most authentic lives. Listen now!
Episode Notes:
In today’s episode, Yael focuses on Deuteronomy 12:28, where Moses cautions the Israelites not to follow in the ways of the nations who lived in the Promised Land before them or worship as they did, but to obey God in the way that God commands:
“Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God.”
Just as the Israelites learn in this passage from Scripture, what the Bible says and what society tells us to do aren’t always the same thing, leaving us with the choice of whether to impress others by following cultural norms or following God instead. But as the Bible shows us, living according to God’s Word means we are living our faithful, authentic lives!
If you think about it, when we live our lives to impress others or win the approval of those around us, we might keep ourselves from doing what we truly want to do. And we’ll never be successful because it’s not possible to please everyone. But if we aim to please God and God alone, He will lead us to the boldest, bravest, and best version of ourselves. We are free to become everything that He created us to be.
In this insightful episode, learn what it means to live an authentic life, which Yael illustrates through her own personal experience. We’ll learn how this concept has strengthened her career path and led her to becoming the successful President and Global CEO of The Fellowship that she is today!
