“It was my first time visiting Israel and it was the Fellowship projects that really had my heart — meeting some of those elderly Jews, whether they were from certain parts of Africa or Ukraine, and seeing this spirituality lived out in flesh and blood. It’s so easy to say we pray for those who have so little, and we care for those. But it’s another thing to stand at the airport and say to them, “Welcome home,” and to then provide them not just with Aliyah (immigrating to Israel), but also to be able to give them a place to work, to give them a community of faith with others who speak their language. Honestly that was overwhelming to me. I just saw a tiny portion of what The Fellowship does but I was overwhelmed by this love in action.”
