When Elena’s neighbors hear about how Fellowship friends like you are helping her, they marvel at the kindness of our Christian brothers and sisters. Thank you for being a light in the darkness for Elena and so many other vulnerable Jews. Your extraordinary generosity is all that is keeping them alive. Please give today.

I’m sure you know what it’s like to feel alone.

During the past few extraordinary months in particular, we’ve all felt the sting of isolation – whether it’s being unable to see our kids and grandkids, go to our favorite restaurants, or attend church or synagogue services together.

But for some, like Elena, this feeling of isolation and loneliness isn’t temporary. It’s something they’ll experience the rest of their lives.

Elena is a kind, elderly Jewish woman who lives in Kazakhstan. So many of her circumstances could bring a frown to her face. But despite losing her eyesight and suffering from debilitating Parkinson’s disease, Elena has such a sweet, life-giving smile.

And you’re the reason for that smile.

Without you, Elena would be utterly and completely alone. Forever.

If you could talk to her, you’d immediately know that Elena is an extraordinary woman – a beloved child of God. But she is facing extraordinary hardship.

This gentle soul wasn’t always alone. Elena worked as an English teacher for many years. She loved sharing her passion for books with her students. She lived with her sister, and the two used to spend the evenings reading and chatting together.

But then her sister passed away, just as Elena’s eyesight and health started to fail.

Now, day after day, month after month, Elena sits in the darkness, unable to read her favorite books. Using a walker, she unsteadily feels her way around the kitchen, trying to make a cup of tea without burning herself. Then she sits in silence once again.

Our hearts are shattered for Elena, and for all God’s precious children who are isolated, lonely, and abandoned. These extraordinary people have nothing to look forward to – no video calls with grandkids, no uplifting prayer meetings, no trips to the park or the coffee shop.

The ONLY light in Elena’s darkness is the homecare worker provided through the loving support of our Fellowship supporters. Your faithful friendship provides Elena with…

nutritious food, which keeps her alive

essential medicine, which eases her pain

help around the house, which lightens her burdens

life-giving companionship, which soothes her spirit

So many needy Jews just like Elena are suffering from soul-crushing poverty and isolation. Their hearts are crying out for someone to help them. Will you be that someone?

Your extraordinary generosity will bring lifesaving food, medicine, and friendship to Jews like Elena, both during this pandemic and beyond.

King Solomon once said, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done” (Proverbs 19:17). I know God will reward you for your generosity. Do it for Elena. Do it for God.
