An Extraordinary Opportunity
| May 7, 2020
The world has turned upside down, but nothing can stop our holy mission. When God’s people come together in faith, we can do the extraordinary. We have an extraordinary opportunity. Extraordinary survivors should NOT live their final days alone and afraid. Please give as much as God allows today and bring lifesaving care to survivors like Faina.
Faina is an extraordinary person. This elderly Jewish woman is so precious in the eyes of God.
But Faina has experienced extraordinary suffering… and is now facing a new and extraordinary risk to her survival from the coronavirus.
When she was just a little girl, Faina was separated from her parents during the Holocaust. Can you imagine how frightened and alone this tiny soul must have felt? Thankfully, godly strangers took her in and raised her as their own.
After everything she’s been through, it is heartbreaking to tell you Faina is alone once again.
Her husband has passed on and she doesn’t have any relatives nearby. She lives in an old apartment, and suffers from a number of serious health conditions. She’s so sick, she can’t even get out of bed.
If Faina were to contract the coronavirus, we don’t think she would survive.
It’s tragic that so many have survived the horrors of the Holocaust only to be fighting for their lives once again. This time, it’s a deadly enemy they cannot see, the coronavirus.
Extraordinary people like Faina and other Holocaust survivors are counting on your extraordinary support during these extraordinary times.
It’s more dangerous than ever for the elderly to leave their homes for groceries, or even to visit the doctor. And for some, like Faina, leaving the house is impossible.
Faina is once again completely reliant on the kindness of strangers for her survival. Godly “strangers” like you.
Your gifts provide her with her only lifeline – a homecare health worker who safely visits her at home and cares for her medical needs, while bringing her food and emergency supplies.
Without friends like you, Faina would be abandoned. She has NO ONE else. And she needs you right now.
In the face of this deadly pandemic, we must continue our God-given work. Because the people we serve – God’s people – need us now more than ever.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of something truly extraordinary. Please don’t wait. Your sacred gift will have a strong impact, giving food, emergency supplies, and loving companionship to vulnerable Jews and Holocaust survivors.
