Photo Friday: Your Children I Will Save

Children liberated from Auschwitz, 1945

“But this is what the LORD says:

‘Yes, captives will be taken from warriors,
and plunder retrieved from the fierce;
I will contend with those who contend with you,
and your children I will save…
Then all mankind will know
that I, the LORD, am your Savior,
your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.'” (Isaiah 49:25-26)

The Bible speaks often of God’s delivery of His people from dangers and enemies, both in its stories of biblical happenings, as well as its biblical prophets. Just as Isaiah says in verse 22, that God will “beckon to the nations” and bring His children home to the Holy Land in prophecy we see being fulfilled today, He has always looked out for His children.

In the above picture, taken 75 years ago this week, Jewish children at last will know some sense of security as they are liberated from the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Shabbat shalom, friends.
