We who stand for Israel have a special place in our hearts for the IDF’s lone soldiers – those soldiers who come to the Holy Land from elsewhere, leaving behind family and friends in order to serve the Jewish state. So, too, does Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who, Arutz Sheva reports, visited an IDF base to praise a South African lone soldier, and even phoned the young man’s mother:
Among the soldiers was Private Benjamin Burns, a lone soldier from South Africa, who came to Israel to serve in the IDF. The Prime Minister called Nikki, Private Burns’ mother, and spoke with her.
“You have a great son,” Netanyahu told Nikki. “And you’re a great and courageous mother.”
The Prime Minister’s wife said that she “admired” Nikki’s courage in allowing her son to go to Israel to enlist as a lone soldier.
“We’re very proud of him and of you,” Netanyahu told her.Tags: IDF Netanyahu Video
