White House Weighs Naming Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a Terrorist Group

With Iran continuing to display its aggression against the Western world and its contempt for the international nuclear deal, the United States must consider further actions against the Islamic Republic. One of these, The Jerusalem Post reports, is the classification of the Revolutionary Guard – Iran’s most powerful security organization – as a terrorist group:
US President Donald Trump’s administration is considering a proposal that could lead to potentially designating Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group, according to US officials familiar with the matter.
The officials said that several US government agencies have been consulted about such a proposal, which if implemented would add to measures the United States has already imposed on individuals and entities linked to the IRGC.
