“These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city. And these days of Purim should never fail to be celebrated by the Jews–nor should the memory of these days die out among their descendants.” (Esther 9:28)

At the end of the Book of Esther, the Bible commands the celebration of one of the most joyous holidays for God’s people – Purim. And God’s Word also commands that Purim be passed down from generation to generation. That’s surely the case in this photo taken in 1966 Israel – in which Jewish children in the Holy Land have learned of the holiday at home, and incorporate some mop-topped mayhem into their Purim celebration. Today, we wish our Jewish friends a Happy Purim, and to all, Shabbat shalom.
