Israel Vows to Stand with UK to Defeat Scourge of Terrorism

Israel, a nation that knows all too well the pain of terrorism, spoke out against the deadly London terror attack yesterday. The Times of Israel reports that Israeli leaders expressed shock at the attack, while also sending their condolences and vowing solidarity with the British people:
Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said in a statement: “Israel expresses its deep shock at the terror attack in London today and its solidarity with the victims and with the people and government of Great Britain. Terror is terror wherever it occurs and we will fight it relentlessly.”
Israel has faced a wave of Palestinian car-ramming, stabbing and shooting assaults since 2015.
Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, expressed his country’s support to his counterpart, UK Ambassador Matthew Rycroft.
“Israel stands as one with the British people as we all work together to defeat the scourge of terrorism. We send our condolences and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured,” said Danon.
In a ritual that has followed many similar such attacks, Tel Aviv City Council was lit up in the Union Jack colors. The move was a symbol of “solidarity” with London, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai wrote on Twitter…
