19-Year-Old Israeli Soldier Dies Shielding His Friends

In an act of extreme bravery, a young IDF soldier saved the life of six of his fellow soldiers when a Hamas grenade exploded, reports the Jerusalem Post:

During the fighting on Kibbutz Nir Am, Matan and six of his friends found themselves under attack by over 50 terrorists inside their armored vehicle.

Amidst the chaos, one of the terrorists threw a grenade inside the vehicle. Without hesitation, Matan jumped on the grenade, embracing it tightly as it exploded.

“I tried to do everything to protect the people of Israel,” he said before dying.
