How Can We Be Silent?

The Fellowship  |  June 22, 2017

Dear Friend of Israel,

Earlier this week in Paris, 31-year-old Adam Djaziri, a known radical Islamist, drove a truck laden with handguns and a rifle into a police car. He was killed in the attack.

One day later in Brussels, Belgium, a Moroccan man shouting “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”) detonated a suitcase filled with nails and gas bottles at a busy train station. Thankfully, damage and injuries from the blast were minimal, and the terrorist was quickly shot by police.

Americans may feel insulated from these kinds of attacks, as they occur less frequently in the U.S. But this relative sense of security is deceiving. On Wednesday, word came of an attack in the Flint, Michigan, airport, where a policeman was stabbed in the neck by a man shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

These are just a few of the many attacks in recent years that have once again shone a light on the international crisis of our age: Islamist terrorism. There will undoubtedly be more, and no country is immune. This scourge has reached all corners of the world.

It is a scourge Israelis know all too well. The Jewish state has fought a continuing battle against radical Islamist hatred for decades. Radical Islamists offer no compromises; indeed, there cannot be compromise between civilized nations and the barbaric practices of terrorists.

It is said that evil only triumphs when good people do nothing. Our new Stop Terror Now campaign is raising a groundswell of support from good people like you who value freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. Faced with this grave threat to our freedoms and our values, how can we be silent?

It is time to take a stand. Today, I again urge all friends of Israel and the U.S., and all who value democracy and liberty, to send a letter to President Trump and Congress encouraging them to pressure terror-sponsoring governments to stop funding groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and others.

Thank you, my friends, for your continued support for Israel and the Jewish people – and thank you for joining our friends who have already sent millions of messages to U.S. government officials telling them it is time to Stop Terror Now!

With prayers for shalom, peace,
