The Fellowship received the following e-mail from the leader of the first-response team on Kibbutz Yad Mordechai in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. We are so thankful to our compassionate donors for allowing us to provide help to those who need it most:

Shalom to The Fellowship,

My name is Guy. I’m a member of Kibbutz Yad Mordechai which is in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.

For the past year I’ve served as the leader of the First-Response Emergency Team on the kibbutz. As you know, last summer thousands of rockets were fired at Israel’s southern communities during Operation Protective Edge. Throughout the Operation, we faced enormous challenges in an effort to maintain as normal a life as possible. Among other things, we tried to keep the kibbutz members calm by providing regular reports about our activities in the field, by using the bomb shelters as summer camps for children, and by maintaining the security of all the residents.

Thanks to The Fellowship, we received emergency kits of special equipment that greatly contributed to the safety and activities of the emergency team. The emergency kits included flak jackets, radios, flashlights, helmets, etc. We distributed the equipment among the staff and it served us well in the reality in which we live. The emergency kits will continue to serve us well in the future.

My team (as are those in the Council’s other communities) is an amazing human web of volunteers working tirelessly, with the understanding that in times of crisis, we must work together as a team. Together we’re strong. Together we can look into the future and weather every crisis.

The value of the equipment you donated is priceless. It allows us to realize our desire to live together during times of routine and times of emergency.

On behalf of all the members of Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, I want to thank you for this contribution. To you it may seem a modest gift, but for us, the significance of your contribution is huge.

May we know days of tranquility and peace.

Sincerely,

Guy Fitoussi
