Faces of The Fellowship: Ana

Ana is a 92-year-old woman from Belarus living alone in Israel. She participates in The Fellowship‘s With Dignity and Fellowship project, which provides impoverished elderly assistance with food, medicine, and companionship.

Ana also receives monthly deliveries from The Fellowship‘s virtual supermarket, which offers elderly who are strong enough to cook but too weak to go shopping an opportunity to order food for free. Fellowship volunteers visit Ana’s home with a laptop and help her order the food she wants. Soon after, the food is delivered to her apartment. Both visits provide much-needed companionship for elderly shut-ins like Ana.

The Fellowship‘s Yael Eckstein recently helped deliver one of Ana’s food boxes. During the visit, she offered Yael some of a vegetable casserole she’d cooked with food from a previous Fellowship delivery. Our donors’ compassionate support helps elderly people like Ana maintain a sense of independence and dignity during their final years. Ana is very grateful for this help, evidenced by her effusive praise to Yael for The Fellowship and all we do for her.
