During the Holocaust, 3,500 people – 800 of them Jews – were murdered on the bank of the Danube River in Budapest, Hungary. The victims were made to take off their shoes, then lined up on the river’s edge and shot. While in Budapest recently, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu visited the “Shoes on the Danube Bank” memorial for those who lost their lives during this part of history’s darkest chapter. Let us never forget. Shabbat shalom, friends.
