A supposed ceasefire has calmed the Holy Land for now, after hundreds of rockets wreaked havoc across Israel this weekend. But The Jerusalem Post’s Herb Keinon reports that PM Netanyahu is discussing the IDF’s response to the rocket fire, as well as Israel’s ongoing campaign against her hateful neighbors to the south:

Even as Hamas declared that a cease fire went into effect early Monday morning and life in the south slowly began returning to normal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the “campaign is not over and requires patience and judgement…”

“Over the past two days, we have hit Hamas and Islamic Jihad with great force, attacking over 350 targets, hitting terrorist leaders and activists,  and destroying terror towers,” Netanyahu said.

“The goal was and remains to ensure quiet and security for  residents of the south,” he said. “I send condolences to the families [of the victims]  and wish the wounded a speedy recovery.”

It did not take Hamas long to respond to Netanyahu’s remarks, with its spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri saying that the prime minister’s comments were worthy of “scorn.”

“The resistance succeeded in deterring Netanyahu’s army,” he said, adding that Hamas’ message to Netanyahu is that “this round is over, but the confrontation will not end until our rights are achieved.”
