Faces of The Fellowship: Zelig

Zelig has reached the impressive age of 101 years and is still mentally sharp. He lives alone in a small apartment in Israel and spends most of his days at home because he’s lost his agility and strength. Unfortunately, his small social security income isn’t enough to afford all the basic necessities.

The government provides him with three hours of funded homecare, and his homecare aide helps him travel to his doctor appointments. Zelig must take a taxi to his medical appointments because of his lack of mobility. Yet these trips cost him extra money that he could spend on food or winter heating.

Thankfully, Fellowship volunteers delivered a check to his home to help him pay for his winter heating bill. “Thank you so much for your help!” he said. “Every bit of assistance is significant to me.”
