Relying on Faith

The Fellowship  |  August 9, 2018

A mother and her two daughters all leaned up against a wall together.

Mommy, my heart is small and my fear is huge. My heart can’t contain it. I can’t go on anymore.” These were the words of a 9-year-old child in southern Israel to her mother, after hiding in a bomb shelter all night and hearing the booms of bombs nearly every minute. Her mother broke down crying and replied, “We rely on our faith; at this point, it’s all we have.”

While hiding in a bomb shelter, sirens continued to sound throughout southern Israel recently as a recent barrage of more than 180 terrorist rockets and mortars were fired from Gaza. While the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted some of the projectiles, several struck the southern Israeli city of Sderot.

We cannot stand idly by as innocent Israelis — including women, children, families, elderly, and soldiers — are in danger!

As God promises to “bless those who bless [Israel],” you can take part in His promise by being a blessing to a suffering Jewish person or Israeli family who have nowhere else to turn.

You can strengthen Israel with your lifesaving gift now to help the most vulnerable in the Holy Land. Your gift today will help provide food, medicine, and shelter to someone in desperate need.
