Giving Tuesday — Be Doubly Blessed

 |  November 21, 2010

What is it mean to be doubly blessed? In Jewish tradition, there’s a belief about Tuesdays that goes all the way back to the beginning.

When God created the world, He said “it is good” on every single day of the week—except Tuesday, the third day of the week.

On Tuesday, God said “it is good”…twice! That’s why many Jews believe Tuesday is doubly blessed by God.

To take part in this Jewish tradition, important events like weddings in Israel are often celebrated on Tuesdays.

Learn more about this tradition from the Holy Land, and take part in celebrating the Double Blessings on Tuesdays!

Because when Tuesdays are joined with the Jewish tradition of celebrating God’s Double Blessing—you can imagine the impact of your own giving!

Together, we can provide desperately needed food, medicine, heat, shelter, and security to those who need it most.
