Bishop Paul Lanier, The Fellowship’s Chairman of the Board, shares a Christian perspective on events impacting Israel, the U.S., and the world.

Well, here we are. We are in the month of November and tradition tells us to gather around our tables, to acknowledge our God, and to give thanks for His goodness and greatness to us throughout this past year. This is a wonderful tradition.

But as faithful Fellowship friends, you already know that you don’t need a tradition to tell you, or a certain day marked on the calendar to remind you, of the glory and goodness of our Lord.

As a people of faith, we know that today is the day the Lord has made! We can choose to rejoice and be glad in it each and every day. Because His mercies are new every day.

I love that the Psalmists say: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” (Psalm 100:4).

As we enter our places of worship this Thanksgiving, I hope we are already filled with God’s spirit of mercy and goodness. So when we are surrounded by our friends and family, and we’re worshiping with people who are moving in the same direction of faith, and we have that wonderful feeling of experiencing the presence of Almighty God, we will feel truly blessed and filled with gratitude and thanksgiving.

And I hope that we feel this every day — not only on Thanksgiving — as we know that our joy in the Lord is knowing that we are His children, and that our God holds us in the palm of His hand. I hope you know how much God loves you this Thanksgiving, and how much He loves you every single day!

The Fellowship wishes you a very happy Thanksgiving, and we want you to know that we are so grateful for you. Thank you for standing for the people of Israel and praying for the peace of Jerusalem. We celebrate you and we celebrate our God, and we are so thankful that you have joined us in this Fellowship.

Happy Thanksgiving! Shalom.
