White House’s Kushner in Israel to Restart Peace Talks

Senior White House advisor and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is in Israel looking to resume peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Kushner, saying they are working toward “the common goals of security, prosperity, and peace.”

Also this week in Israel in the News:

  • Israel Defense Forces remain on high alert after Iran launched several missiles into Syria this week, striking ISIS targets. The strikes were in retaliation for last week’s terror attack in Iran claimed by ISIS that killed 18.
  • Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is attempting to force out Hamas in Gaza by reducing payments to Israel for power there. Israel has responded by cutting the daily supply of power from 120 to 112 megawatts — or about four hours a day less power.
  • Fellowship Senior Vice President Yael Eckstein led an unprecedented partnership effort in Morocco, delivering food packages to more than 1,500 needy Muslim families in a special Ramadan initiative.
