“Those the LORD has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”
(Isaiah 51:11)

When World War II ended, many Jews who survived the Holocaust looked to “return” to their biblical and historic homeland, Zion. These Holocaust survivors found safety, and fulfilled biblical prophecy, when they arrived in the Holy Land in 1945 aboard the RMS Mataroa. This week, we observed Yom HaShoah, remembering the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust. But let us also remember those Jews, like the ones pictured above, who survived. Shabbat shalom, friends.
