He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.
(Psalm 18:16-19)

Is this man being rescued from the rubble really hurt? No. He’s not. The above photo was taken last week during the IDF’s 6th annual International Conference on Preparedness and Response to Emergencies and Disasters. In Israel, this kind of practice is necessary, as no one knows when the next terrorist-caused disaster might be.

But what we do know is that the IDF will be there to help when disaster occurs, and our mighty God will always be there, too. Shabbat shalom, friends.
