Worshipers at Western Wall, March 16, 2020
The pictures show the scene this morning at the Kotel (Western Wall) Plaza where scores of worshippers came during the morning for morning prayer. In accordance with current Health Ministry regulations the worshippers ensured that enough distance was maintained between them to avoid any chances of cross infection from the current Corona virus which is gaining a serious hold throughout the world. Following consultations between Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz and the Israel Health Ministry, the public were requested not to kiss the stones of the Western Wall in order to abide by required hygiene practices.

“When they pray to the LORD toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name, then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.” (1 Kings 8:44-45)

Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, worshipers in the Holy City, Jerusalem, continue to come to the Western Wall to pray. This picture, though, shows the Israeli people following Israel’s Health Ministry guidelines in ensuring enough distance is maintained between people in order to slow the virus’ spread.
