Auschwitz Discovery: Heartbreaking Find in Child’s Shoes

Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, eighty years after it opened, holds the untold stories of the more than one million Jews murdered there. Each of these stories, each of these lives taken during the Holocaust, reminds us to never forget. And to never again allow such evil to occur. Our friends at Fox News share a new story – a handwritten inscription discovered in a murdered child’s shoe:

Experts at the Memorial and Museum at Auschwitz-Birkenau were preserving shoes that belonged to a child who died at the World War II Nazi concentration camp when they made a heartbreaking discovery.

“A handwritten inscription was found in one of the children’s shoes bearing the child’s first and last name, the marking of the transport and the child’s registration number on the transport list (Ba 541),” explains the Memorial and Museum, which is at the site of the concentration camp…
