20 Rockets Fired at Southern Israel

After a period of relative calm in the Holy Land, terrorists have begun to attack once again. The Times of Israel’s Judah Ari Gross reports that 20 rockets have been fired into southern Israel from Gaza. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported:

Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a large-scale barrage of some 20 rockets at southern Israel on Sunday evening, approximately half of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, the Israel Defense Forces said…

The rocket fire came after an irregular clash along the Gaza border earlier in the day in which Israeli troops shot dead a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group as he planted a bomb along the border. The Israeli army then retrieved his body using a bulldozer.

The Islamic Jihad appeared to take responsibility for the attack, writing on its website that the “resistance” had fired the rockets in response to Israel taking the terrorist operative’s corpse.

The large barrage triggered multiple rounds of sirens early Sunday evening in the cities of Ashkelon and Sderot and in smaller Israeli communities in the area around the Strip known as the Gaza periphery…
