“Out of the eater, something to eat;
out of the strong, something sweet.” (Judges 14:14)

In this photo from pre-statehood Israel in 1938 – a full decade before the War of Independence – workers at the Elite Candy Factory in Ramat Gan prepare “something to eat” for the people of the Holy Land. “Something sweet,” indeed! Shabbat shalom, friends.
