A Hanukkah menorah defies the Nazis during the Holocaust
(Photo: wikicommons)

On the eighth night of Hanukkah in 1931, the Posner family of Kiel, Germany, lit their menorah in view of the Nazi flag. On the back of this photo is the inscription:

“Death to Judah”
So the flag says
“Judah will live forever”
So the light answers

We wish our Jewish friends a Happy Hanukkah, and may all our lights answer the darkness. Shabbat shalom, friends.
