Israeli Air Force Strikes Terror Targets in Gaza

The Israeli Air Force struck terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip early Thursday morning in response to a missile being launched into southern Israel. That missile was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system. Later, a second rocket fired from Gaza struck a Jewish school in Sderot, causing damage, but no injuries.
- On Wednesday, a balloon carrying explosives exploded over Israeli territory, causing no injuries. The attack came alongside scores of other balloon-borne explosives launched into Israel from Gaza.
- A pair of oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman were attacked on Thursday, and the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blamed Iran for the “brazen attacks.”
- Earlier this week, Iran’s foreign minister Mohammad Zarif said the U.S. cannot expect to stay safe in light of recent actions it has taken against Iran.
- In response to Mohammad Zarif’s comments, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video statement, saying that Zarif is lying and Iran is “the one who openly threatens” to destroy Israel.
