On Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shot down a drone launched from Gaza that was flying over the Israeli communities of Karmiya and Zikim. The IDF has retrieved the drone and is looking into where it came from, and what it was carrying.

  • Also this week, the IDF discovered yet another terror tunnel from the Gaza Strip that reached into Israel. The tunnel appears to have been left over from previous wars.
  • As Iran continues to exceed uranium enrichment levels, Israel is calling on European nations still in the 2015 nuclear deal to crack down on Tehran.
  • British authorities seized a super tanker filled with suspected Iranian oil off the coast of Gibraltar near Spain. U.S. officials say the tanker was on its way to Syria in violation of EU sanctions.

This week’s Israel in the News Perspective features the Fellowship President Yael Eckstein on helping the forgotten Jews in the former Soviet Union.
