“He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the people of the world revere him.” (Psalm 33:7-8)

In this historic Holy Land photo shared by our friends at the Israeli Embassy, we witness the creation of a very important part of Israeli history: Israel’s National Water Carrier.

The project, Israel’s largest, began as early as 1933, when this photograph was taken at the Yarmuk River. But once Israel won her independence in 1948, the project gained steam, being completed 16 years later. At one point, the fresh water from northern Israel piped to central Israel provided 50% of Israelis with their water! Today, of course, most Israelis depend on desalinated water. But, however their thirst is quenched, God’s people have Him to thank! Shabbat shalom, friends.
