Repairing a Broken World

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  July 6, 2017
Jews around the world will soon begin the period known as "The Three Weeks," a time that has historically brought calamity and misfortune to the Jewish people. While we mourn these tragedies, they also remind us that we have a duty to engage in the blessed act of tikkun olam - "repairing the world."

A Shared Love of Freedom

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  June 29, 2017
On July 4th, Americans will gather to celebrate the blessings of life in a free country. Israel's political system also guarantees Israelis the same freedoms enjoyed by Americans. This "kinship of common values" is one of the many reasons our two nations stand united, and why both Americans and Israelis continue to pray together for shalom,

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  June 14, 2017
Over the past two weeks, a coalition of countries began acting against Qatar, the Gulf state that supports many terrorist groups and has close relations with Iran's radical regime. And so I urge all friends of Israel, America, and the free world to go to to send letters to President Trump and Congress to pressure governments that sponsor terror.

As It Goes with Israel

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  June 1, 2017
As the anniversary of the Six-Day War nears, let us thank God for Israel's miraculous victory in 1967, and for her survival against all odd through the ages. But let us also pray to Him for peace, standing up against the threats that face not just the Jewish state, but freedom-loving people everywhere.

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  May 25, 2017
A homeless man showed heroism and compassion by helping many victims of last week's terror attack in Manchester, England. His acts should hearten us, as people of faith, to show compassion and kindness in this broken world.

Confronting Horror, Encountering Hope at Auschwitz

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  May 11, 2017
Earlier this week, I visited Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp in Poland where more than a million Jews were murdered. The somber visit provided evidence of the catastrophic events of the Jewish past, but also hope for a thriving Jewish future.

The Power of Prayer

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  May 3, 2017
In the United States, faith and prayer are part of Americans' civic duties, and the National Day of Prayer acknowledges this fundamental truth. Today - and every day - let us appeal for God's assistance in securing health and safety for both the U.S. and Israel.

We Remember. We Act.

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  April 27, 2017
Earlier this week on Yom HaShoah, Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honored those who were murdered during that horrible chapter in history. And just as we honored the memory of the 6 million Jewish lives that were lost, let us also act to provide dignity to Holocaust survivors.

Two Are Better Than One

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein  |  April 20, 2017
God reminds us that we weren't designed to face difficulties alone. I see this concept at work every day as our loving community of Fellowship supporters blesses people in need, reminding them that they are not alone.
