The Druze community in Israel is a minority group known for its faithful service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In fact, there is a higher percentage of Druze serving in the IDF than any other minority population in Israel.

The Fellowship cares a lot for the Druze community in Israel and funds several projects to help needy Druze communities, including support for elderly and orphans, food programs, after-school activities, scholarships for Druze students, emergency aid to Druze refugees in Jordan, and assistance for soldiers who have completed their time of service.

Rabbi Eckstein recently attended an event honoring Druze soldiers. He sat at a table next to the IDF Chief of Staff and the spiritual leader of the Israeli Druze community. After being honored by senior members of the IDF and Druze society, Rabbi Eckstein addressed those gathered, saying, “I want to tell you how much we appreciate, love, and salute you.

“I know that when a Druze soldier completes his IDF service he has nowhere to go and has no apartment. This is wrong. We must all do more to show you how much we appreciate and respect you. I salute each of you who protects us. And I pray that God will protect you the way that you protect us. Thank you!”
