The Fellowship provided the funds to purchase a new CT scanner for Ziv Medical Center (also known as Rebecca Sieff Hospital) in Tzfat. The CT scanner was recently placed in a fortified protected room in the emergency room, and Prof. Salman Zarka, Director of Ziv Medical Center, explains why the machine is so important for the hospital:

I want to express my sincere gratitude to The Fellowship for continuing to be our partners in providing the citizens of northern Israel and the Galilee excellent medical care.

As the hospital located in the most northern part of Israel, Ziv Medical Center’s role as the provider of frontline trauma and emergency care is paramount. Due to the critical part CT imaging plays in emergency medicine, the addition of a designated CT for our Emergency Department and Trauma Unit is essential, and the single CT which serves the entire hospital is not enough.
