Faces of The Fellowship: Nadya

Sweet little Nadya now lives in the Tikva Children’s Home in Odessa, Ukraine, which is sponsored by The Fellowship. Only five months old, she has joined her older brother and sister who entered the home after their mother could no longer care for them.

Nadya’s mother gave birth to her older brother, Vadim, at the age of 16. Later, she gave birth to Nadya’s older sister, Christina. Soon after Christina’s birth, the doctors diagnosed both Nadya’s mother and Christiana with HIV. Then, Vadim and Christina’s father abandoned the family. Nadya’s mother felt very overwhelmed and started abusing drugs and alcohol to cope, often neglecting her young children.

Thankfully, the children’s home staff members rescued both Vadim and Christina from their mother. After giving birth to Nadya, their mother still wasn’t healthy or responsible enough to raise a child, so the children’s home staff rescued the infant, as well.

Now all three siblings have found a loving home where they receive love, care, and nourishment, like all children deserve, thanks to The Fellowship.
