Yael’s Visit With Marusia

Marusia is Counting On You

When Yael met Marusia, she hadn’t had a visitor in a week. The table in her small apartment was empty. There was no food in the fridge, and she had nothing to look forward to as she was preparing for the High Holidays and to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

She was sad and alone, and then our Fellowship friends showed up. That’s right, when Yael visited Marusia, our compassionate donors came with her – because it was their support that provided her with chicken, cheese, milk, flour, cooking oil, and more … everything she needed to prepare delicious holiday meals.

On top of food, our Fellowship friends also brought Marusia the blessing of smiles and laughter, filling her High Holidays observance with something she hasn’t felt for months; joy.

The Bible tells us that “A cheerful heart is good medicine” (Proverbs 17:22), and that is just what Fellowship friends have given Marusia through this caring support.

This is God’s work. With each compassionate gift, you can tell elderly, lonely Jews, “You are not forgotten!” Not just during the High Holidays, but all year long.

Thank you, Todah Rabah, to our compassionate Fellowship friends for bringing a smile to God’s precious children in the twilight years of their lives. You are living in the image of God, just as He intended.
