Heartfelt Thanks from Someone You've Helped
My name is Eduard. I would like to sincerely express my deep gratitude to The Fellowship and its Isaiah 58 partners for helping my daughter Yulia, who has been receiving aid through the program "Aid to Children" since it was launched in our town.
Unfortunately, there were a series of circumstances that caused extreme difficulties for my family. In March 2006 my wife, Yulia's mother, died. Apart from the sudden shock and sorrow associated with this tragedy, I was faced with the huge challenge of bringing up two children, Yulia and her brother Yevgeniy, on my own. Now Yulia has entered grade 8, while my son Zhenya is a third-year student at the Kharkov Academy of Culture.
I am employed with the Jewish community of Krivoy Rog, but the wages that I receive are not enough for my family to live on. Thus, the aid received for my daughter from The Fellowship—she regularly receives food aid, as well as clothing and footwear for the appropriate season—and its participation in the life of our family, came at a very timely moment, when we were in dire need. For this, I would once again like to express my gratitude.
Thanks to this program, Jewish children in our city can spend their free time together on the weekend and during holidays. This is really helping them to get along with their peers and to understand that there are also other people facing similar problems. But, most importantly, your role in their lives is showing them that there are decent people out there who are trying to help and that they, in turn, can also take steps to help others.
