Eugene—Isaiah 58 the "Only Hope in the World" for a poor child
Eugene, 17, was born in the former Soviet Union (FSU). When he was eight years old, he and his mother moved to the U.S. to join his father, who was working there. Two years later, just as Eugene was beginning to integrate into American life, his family was forced to return to the FSU to care for an aunt who was seriously ill.
No sooner had they arrived than tragedy struck when Eugene's father died unexpectedly. The family was bereaved and had no means of support. Today, they struggle to make ends meet on the $108 per month they receive from the government. They live in a dilapidated house and are so impoverished that they cannot afford to heat their home. Eugene often becomes ill because he does not have enough to eat.
Support from The Fellowship is the only hope in the world for this struggling mother and son—the only thing that has kept them from starving. The Fellowship's Isaiah 58 program provides Eugene with a card that can be used to purchase food at a local supermarket and for additional food assistance during the holidays, as well as for clothing and shoes for Eugene's school.
Eugene's story is all too common for thousands of poor children struggling to survive in the FSU. Your gift to Isaiah 58 could literally mean the difference between life and death for them. Please donate today
