Dana and her five-year-old daughter came to Israel from Russia three years ago in hopes of a better life.

Dana's grandparents survived the holocaust, and since then no one in her family has remained faithful to Judaism, except for Dana. "My family thinks I'm crazy for staying Jewish after the holocaust," explains Dana, "but it is in my blood. God is my life and I love Him. Because of all of the bad associations to Jews that people have in Russia, I knew that I had to come to Israel and bring my child."

Dana and her daughter live in a small one-bedroom apartment. After food, electricity, and rent, Dana barely has any money left over from her small salary as a receptionist.

During the summer, Dana's daughter is off from school and Dana cannot afford to pay for summer camp or babysitters. If she takes the month off from work to care for her daughter, Dana will get fired from her job. "I have no family to help and feel so alone. This is a source of anxiety for me. I feel trapped."

This year The Fellowship provided funds for Dana's daughter to go to summer camp through the Guardians of Israel program. For only $250, Dana's daughter is cared for all day and Dana is able to go to work without anxiety or fear.

"This is a miracle — simply a blessing from God," Dana says. "Thank you so much, IFCJ."
