Anita and her husband left their native Romania to fulfill their lifelong dream of moving to Israel. When they first arrived, they were able to live comfortably off of Anita's husband's pension money. But then after two years, Anita's husband died suddenly. She fell into a deep depression.

Since she and her husband never had any children, Anita was now entirely alone. Without her husband's pension to rely on she never has enough money. After surgery for heart problems left her bedridden, she was often stranded in her house for weeks. "I had nowhere to turn," Anita says. "I desperately needed help."

Today, Anita gets the help that she needs through Guardians of Israel. Guardians funds a helper who comes to Anita's house to take care of her physical needs, helping her with chores that she is unable to do on her own like bathing, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. And the helper's visits provide her with much needed company as well.

Thanks to Guardians, Anita is receiving the care she needs to live in comfort and dignity. "If it weren't for my helper," Anita says, "I would be stranded here, unable to do the things that I need to live. "

Anita is deeply grateful for the assistance Guardians has given her. "Please continue this support," Anita says, "because there are many people like me. We rely on you to live, and thank you for coming through for us."
