Stand for Israel Sunday

Dear Friend of Israel,

The Fellowship is pleased to offer you online resources to host your own Stand for Israel Sunday at your church. We have new tools to help you promote this event to your church and community, and to involve your entire church family in prayer.

Stand for Israel, a program of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, is aimed at mobilizing Christians to actively stand with the State of Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem, while educating the public about the facts regarding the Middle East and Israel's security. Throughout the years tens of thousands of churches in the United States and worldwide participate in days, and prayer for Israel. It's our ongoing hope that churches and millions of Christians express their solidarity with the State of Israel by praying for her welfare. We are placing our trust in God and claiming 1 Chronicles 5:20: "He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him."

The Bible teaches us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and that those who bless Israel and the Jewish people will themselves be blessed (Genesis 12:3). It is in that spirit that we call on you to unite your church in prayer for Israel.

The need for prayer is urgent. In addition to ongoing terrorist bombings in Israel, anti-Semitism has reappeared worldwide with a vengeance. Hatred towards the Jewish people has spread throughout Europe, the cradle of anti-Semitism, to Canada, Australia, and the USA. Anti-Semitism has reached such a proportion that it can no longer be brushed aside as incidental. It is critical that we, as people of faith, take a stand now and pray for Israel and the Jewish people.

Thank you for your support of and participation in Stand for Israel. Both the United States and Israel have suffered greatly at the hands of terrorists and religious extremists, and we share a responsibility to stand against those who threaten freedom and democracy. Through faith, prayer, education, and action, it is our hope that peace will come to Jerusalem and acts of terrorism will end in Israel and around the globe.

Warmest regards,

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein
