Incredible Opportunity to Bless Israel Will Soon Disappear
In the Pension Protection Act of 2006, Congress included the option to rollover up to $100,000 directly from an IRA to a qualified charity. This is an exciting opportunity that is scheduled to come to an end on December 31, 2009.
The IRA charitable rollover is available for individuals who are age 70½ or older. It is a direct transfer to qualified charitable organizations, like the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, made by your plan's administrator.
Previously, some individuals would take a withdrawal from their IRA, report the distribution as taxable income, make a cash gift to The Fellowship, obtain a receipt for their charitable contribution, and then take a deduction on their income tax return. The tax deduction was available only for those who itemized their tax deductions. This process was complicated and often resulted in increased income taxes on Social Security benefits. The Charitable IRA Rollover provisions have eliminated all of these negative consequences.
Helping Jewish people by helping The Fellowship through your IRA has never been easier. If you are 70½ years of age, your IRA administrator can transfer any amount up to $100,000 from your IRA to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. The IRA rollover is not a taxable distribution so there is no comparable tax deduction. At the same time, your gift qualifies toward your minimum distribution requirements. It is a wonderful, yet simple and effective way of making a substantial gift that will help so many suffering Jews around the world.
Whether your favorite program is Wings of Eagles, Isaiah 58 or Guardians of Israel, all you need to do is contact the financial company that manages your IRA and direct your administrator to make a "qualified charitable distribution" directly to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. It is an uncomplicated act of love that will touch so many lives.
Please share the following information with your IRA administrator to make your qualified distribution to The Fellowship. The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization.
