U.S. Democrats Fight to Stall Netanyahu’s Speech to Congress

A coalition of Congressional Democrats is urging House Speaker John Boehner to postpone next week’s address by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the U.S. Congress. The coalition is accusing Boehner of using Netanyahu as a political tool against President Obama.

Also this week in Israel in the News:

• With violence on the increase in Jerusalem, Mayor Nir Barkat personally subdued a knife-wielding terrorist who had stabbed a Jewish man moments before.
• An American jury has found the Palestinian Authority responsible for terror attacks that killed several Americans between 2002–2004.
• A ceasefire in Ukraine has failed to bring peace, with Russian-backed rebels continuing to fight. Ukraine is saying it won’t withdraw weapons until the ceasefire is observed.
