Photo Friday: Their Sorrow Was Turned into Joy

Jewish people celebrating the holiday of Purim, observed as directed in the book of Esther. Daniel Bar On

“…their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into a day of celebration. He wrote them to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor.” (Esther 9:22)

This week, the Jewish people celebrated the holiday of Purim, observed as directed in the book of Esther. In the town of Migdal HaEmek, Fellowship Senior Vice President Yael Eckstein attended a party for elderly Israelis helped by our With Dignity and Fellowship program. Here an elderly woman displays a tray of hamantaschen, a traditional Purim cookie which represents the hat of Haman, the villain of Esther’s story. Shabbat shalom, friends.
