Photo Friday: Like Well-Nurtured Plants

Then our sons in their youth
    will be like well-nurtured plants,

and our daughters will be like pillars
    carved to adorn a palace.
Our barns will be filled
    with every kind of provision.

Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields
(Psalm 144:12-13)

Before he became the state of Israel's first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion had a love for his people's historic homeland. Here, he and his family tend to the garden at their Tel Aviv home in the late 1930s. Shabbat shalom, friends.
