This year, IFCJ has begun providing Freedom Flights for South American Jews, who are facing the same anti-Semitism found elsewhere around the world. One of these flights was from Uruguay. Yediot Achronot's Itamar Eichner reports on the latest terrifying incident in Uruguay, where a Jewish man was killed during an anti-Semitic attack:

David Fremd, a Jewish man in his 50s, was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack on Tuesday in the city of Paysandú in Uruguay by a man who reportedly called out "Allahu Akbar." He succumbed to his wounds on  Wednesday.

According to reports from the Jewish community in the country, Fremd was walking down the street when the attacker jumped him and stabbed him in the back 10 times.

According to reports in Uruguay, one of Fremd's sons was also wounded in the attack.
